Sr. Layout Designer

Wevia is looking for a Senior Layout / Book Designer to join our hybrid setup in our MyTown Cheras hub. This role will require you to be located in the Klang Valley and able to work from our Cheras hub several days a week.

We’re filling a new role: a layout designer interested in supporting the work to provide our gospel-centered publishing partner with reliable layout support as they translate licensed Crossway theological books. They will also be serving our US-based corporate clients with ebooks, whitepapers and annual reports.

You will be designing a wide variety of print and digital assets and must be aware of the nuances of each medium. To succeed in this position, you’ll have mastered the preflight process for print design, have a strong grasp of typography, know how to leverage advanced InDesign features to format 250+ page books efficiently, and show keen attention to detail. You will have an advantage in the selection process if you can show that you’ve made the jump to designing responsive layouts for the web.

Types of projects you’ll see:

- Marketing Collateral Design (ebooks, whitepapers, annual reports, etc.)
- Information Design (infographics, diagrams, charts, and graphs)
- Book Layouts (interior typesetting for translated text, original InDesign document templates, etc.)
- Websites (landing pages, microsites, etc.)

Ideal profile:
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable presenting your work and receiving feedback
- Curious, collaborative, hard-working, and always learning

Skills needed:
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Software (Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat) and the Microsoft Suite. Bonus for working knowledge in Figma.
- English language fluency (both spoken and written), Mandarin proficiency is a plus.

Full Time

We are a design agency based here in the Klang Valley serving local Christian book publishers and the US tech space abroad. Our clients span the mid-to-large segment of the Human Resource Tech, Fraud Detection, and IT Management industries.
